Bosendorfer 130
52" Professional Upright Piano
The 130 Bosendorfer Upright Piano has earned a prestigious global reputation as "The Grand Upright" - an instrument capable of producing the singing voice and thunderous projection of a grand piano despite it's vertical shape. To accomplish this Bosendorfer's master craftsmen and women build 85% of the piano out of Bavarian Spruce tonewood - one of the most expensive premium woods in the world. Even the piano's cabinet and frame are made with solid spruce - giving the entire piano a role in tone production. Other instruments think of these components as merely structural and, therefore, use lesser woods (like poplar or mahogany). The Bosendorfer's "Spruce Resonance Case" is naturally dried for up to five years before use. Then, like Bosendorfer grands, the piano is fitted with a custom-fit cast iron plate, hand-wound (bass) strings, an open pin block (for unparalleled durability and tuning stability) and a custom Renner action - the finest made in the World today.
The entire process takes six years, but the result is undeniable - the only upright piano in the world worthy of the moniker "grand".
The very Bosendorfer Master Craftsmen and women who build Bosendorfer's concert grand pianos design and build the 130 Bosendorfer Upright Piano, bringing with them nearly two centuries of experience and artistry.
